1 dead following police shooting in Scottsdale: PD

Scottsdale Police officials say they are investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting on March 21.

The shooting happened at around 5:30 p.m., in the area of Scottsdale and Cactus Roads. Police were attempting a traffic stop, after automatic license plate readers alerted police that the car was stolen out of Phoenix.

According to Scottsdale’s police chief, the suspect got out of the car and immediately started to shoot at the two police officers, with multiple rounds fired.

Police shooting under investigation in Scottsdale

One person is dead, according to Scottsdale Police officials, following an officer-involved shooting in the East Valley city. FOX 10's Lindsey Ragas reports.

The suspect got back in the car, and that was when both officers fired back, and the suspect died in the stolen vehicle.

Police have yet to identify the suspect. As for the officers involved, Scottsdale's police chief said one of them is a senior officer, and the other a junior officer. Neither officers were hurt as a result of the shooting.
