A second-alarm guest house fire extended into a commercial building on Thursday morning near Jefferson and 21st Avenue. A large plume of black smoke could be seen across the Valley.

Just before 11:30 a.m., Captain Larry Subervi of the Phoenix Fire Department stated 50 firefighters extinguished the guest house and commercial fire, which contained a large amount of steel and metal products.

Firefighters say APS crews were at the scene to disconnect charged power lines that were in the path of the fire.

Firefighters were able to save the majority of the commercial building, however, the guest house is a total loss.

There are no reports of injuries. At this time, there's no word on what started the fire.
