Crews work to rescue horse, rider stuck in mud in Shadow Hills

A rescue is underway for a rider and his horse that became stuck in the mud near Hansen Dam in the Shadow Hills area of Los Angeles.

Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department were called to the 10800 block of W. Wentworth Street Tuesday at about 6 p.m. and used air support to locate the rider and his horse.

The horse is moving and doesn't appear to have any injuries, according to the L.A. Fire Department. The rider is safe and is not injured.

Search and Rescue teams are on scene bringing specialized equipment to attempt to free the horse from the mud.

No further details were immediately known.
