Children as young as 8 involved in stolen car chase; Driver learned from YouTube

Authorities in Ohio say a group of children could face criminal charges in juvenile court for stealing a vehicle, leading police on a pursuit before crashing into a yard.

Newburgh Heights Police said on December 20, officers received an alert about a stolen vehicle. 

Officers then spotted the video and attempted to make a traffic stop, but then the vehicle sped off. 

The vehicle then crashed into a yard and the children, ages 12, 11, and 8, ran away but were later caught. 

Police said the 11-year-old was the driver of the vehicle and admitted to learning how to steal a car from watching YouTube videos.

According to police, three children ages 8, 11, and 12 stole a car and crashed it into a home after watching how-to videos on YouTube.
