PHOENIX (AP) - An official appointed by a judge to monitor Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's office in a racial profiling case is scheduled to hold an April 22 community meeting in Tempe.
Court monitor Robert Warshaw is set to hold the meeting at Kyrene del Norte Elementary School.
The aim of the meeting is to listen to the community's experiences with and concerns about the sheriff's office.
A judge overseeing the case ruled in May 2013 that Arpaio's office had systematically racially profiled Latinos in its regular traffic and immigration patrols.
Arpaio denies his officers have racially profiled people and has appealed the ruling.
The judge ordered that public meetings be held to build confidence in the sheriff's office and inform the community about policy changes made by the agency.
