Man accused of sunbathing naked in San Tan Valley driveway

An X-rated scene is on display in a San Tan Valley neighborhood that's filled with children. FOX 10's Taylor Wirtz reports.

A man is repeatedly exposing himself to a San Tan Valley neighborhood and despite multiple calls to law enforcement, he hasn't stopped.

What they're saying:

Barbara Diaz says her street in the Johnson Ranch neighborhood in San Tan Valley is a family-friendly as it gets, with a school around the corner.

"We live in a very high traffic area where the kids are always walking by," she said.

That was until her sister's friend saw her neighbor hanging out in his driveway – all the way out.

"She was like, ‘Why is your neighbor sitting outside naked?’ I'm like, ‘What are you talking about?’" said Barbara's sister. "I was just floored. I was like, ‘That is unbelievable.’ I like I didn't even know how to react."

Diaz and her sister called the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, who told them that because the friend who witnessed the exposure does not live here, there's nothing they could do. But a few days later, Diaz's sister saw her neighbor back in the driveway, leaving little to the imagination.

"Sure enough, he was sitting out there without any pants on fully exposed," said Barbara's sister.

And when they called the sheriff's office again, the deputy saw it all for himself.

"He’s like, ‘Yeah… he’s not wearing any pants,’" said Barbara's sister.

Neighbor spotted naked below the waist in driveway

Controversy is brewing in San Tan Valley, where a man living in the community apparently likes to sun himself in his own driveway while wearing nothing from the waist down. Neighbors have complained that there are children in the area, but they say nothing has been done. FOX 10's Taylor Wirtz reports.

The man told the deputy he was trying to get a tan.

"He’s like, ‘Why don’t you go in your backyard?’ The sun doesn’t hit in my backyard," Barbara said.

But once again, Barbara and her sister were told nothing could be done.

"They said, 'Well, we can't really do anything because there's no actual victim,'" Barbara said. "My sister did say, ‘Well, I am the victim. I saw them.’ Like, well, unless you are a minor or there are kids around, we really can't arrest them."

But as the mother of a 10-year-old daughter, Diaz wants the nudity to stop.

"We shouldn't have to tell our kids, look away. So you don't see something in your own neighborhood, especially a family neighborhood," she said.

And while she didn't set out to expose her neighbor, she says her daughter comes first.

"I would die if my daughter sees that like I would die, literally die," she said. "There’s no therapy in the world for that."

What's next:

The sheriff's office says they've received multiple calls about the man and that they are investigating. A spokesperson also said they've also reached out to adult protective services.
