Several workers injured at Taser International

Fire officials say seven people have been taken to the hospital after an accident at Taser International in Scottsdale.

Emergency crews responded to the incident around 4:15 p.m. Thursday, initial reports were there was an explosion in the building.

One person was evaluated by paramedics and rushed to the burn unit in critical condition. Six others were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

An additional nine other employees were evaluated but declined to go to the hospital.

A spokesperson for Taser said as they were shutting down equipment when a piece of equipment exploded.

"We've got 22 years this week and we've never had a serious injury that has occurred on this production line," said Steve Tuttle, spokesperson for Taser.

The workers involved work a four day work week so they will return to work on Monday.
