Man accused of ambush shooting of Phoenix Police officer pleads not guilty

Nicholas Cowan, 35, is accused of shooting Phoenix Police Officer Denise Bruce-Jones last month at a gas station near Beardsley and Cave Creek Road while she was responding to a domestic violence call made by Cowan's girlfriend. Following the shooting, Cowan fled the scene and was on the run for several days before being arrested in Scottsdale.
