Phoenix enjoyed warmer-than-average temperatures on Monday. According to figures, the city's high temperature was 83°F on Monday, which tied a record set on the day, in 1935.

In Yuma, National Weather Service officials said the high temperature there was 86°F, which broke the previous record of 84°F that was set in 1986.

The warm weather in Phoenix came as a change for the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which has seen cold temperatures, frost on the course, and rain in the past.
