A man was killed in an apparent road rage shooting in Tempe on Tuesday afternoon.

What we know:

The July 1 shooting happened near Warner Road and Priest Drive around 1:30 p.m.

The victim, identified on July 2 by Tempe Police as 29-year-old Steven Bevan, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died not long after arriving.

"The other involved man remained on scene and was detained by police," police wrote. "There is no outstanding suspects or threat to the public."

At the scene, police vehicles surrounded a black Dodge Challenger with its passenger door open. They were also investigating a black GMC Sierra parked right behind it.

They focused on the driver's side of the truck and took a closer look at what was between the two vehicles.
