Chandler police identify man killed in shootout with cops
CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Chandler police have identified a burglary suspect who had been driving a stolen vehicle before he was killed in an exchange of gunfire with officers.
Chandler police say no officers or bystanders were injured in Monday afternoon's incident that resulted in the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Kenneth Arnold Buck.
The incident began when officers tried to stop a stolen vehicle that had apparently been involved in a burglary.
According to police, the suspect began shooting at the pursuing officers.
Officers returned fire, hitting the suspect, who died at the scene.
Police said the truck had a fictitious Indiana license plate and that the suspect had outstanding arrests warrants that included the caution that he was to be considered armed and dangerous.
