El Mirage Walmart evacuated due to bomb threat

EL MIRAGE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Police say an El Mirage Walmart was evacuated on Friday due to a bomb threat.

According to the El Mirage Police Department, the customer service department at the Walmart store located near Thunderbird and Dysart Roads received a call from an unknown person stating there was a bomb in the store.

The caller then hung up and Walmart employees immediately evacuated the store and called police.

Officers arrived at the store and contained the area and bomb-detecting K-9's were brought in from Luke Air Force Base.

No suspicious articles or bombs were found in the store and it was cleared to resume normal operations just after 11 a.m.
