A mayor in the southern Philippines survived a rocket-propelled grenade attack on his vehicle in broad daylight on Sunday, an assault captured on CCTV footage released by local authorities.

In a statement on Monday, the regional government said Ampatuan was unharmed, while two members of his security detail were injured. Police are working to identify those responsible, the government added.
