PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Phoenix Police say a man has died following being hit by car after he ran into the roadway overnight near 32nd Ave. and Southern, just after midnight.
Police say that a witness saw Sheldon Begay, 26, walking and stumbling in and out of the road. The witness tried to warn Begay, but he reportedly ran into the road and was hit by a vehicle.
Police say Begay was pronounced dead on the scene.
Officers say the driver, whose name has not been released, stayed at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. No charges are expected.
