Police: 1 dead following barricade situation at Scottsdale home

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Scottsdale police say one person is dead following a barricade situation.

According to Officer Kevin Watts with the Scottsdale Police Department, the barricade situation happened in a home near 134th Street and Via Linda, and the call originated as a family disturbance with possible shots fired.

Police say the person was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound outside the home.

Nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution during the barricade situation.
