Man crashed stolen military-style SUV into police car: PD
Police say Lyle Harmon Jr. was driving a stolen military-style SUV on Aug. 29 when he crashed into a police cruiser in a parking lot near Hayden and Thomas Roads. The officer who was inside the cruiser suffered minor injuries.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - A suspect has been arrested after a Scottsdale Police officer was rear-ended by a military-style SUV.
What we know:
According to police, the officer was in the driver's seat of a parked patrol vehicle at around 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 29 when a man driving a stolen large military-style SUV crashed into the back of the officer's vehicle near Hayden and Thomas Roads.
The officer was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The man driving the SUV, Lyle Harmon Jr., was also hospitalized. After being released, he was booked into jail and is accused of multiple charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer and aggravated DUI.
Harmon is being held on a $50,000 bond.
