PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix Police officers are at the scene of an officer involved shooting.
According to officials, the shooting took place at a trailer park near 21st Avenue and Van Buren. When officers arrived, they approached the area where a 42-year-old man was reportedly firing shots with a handgun in each hand. The officers gave commands to the suspect, who then turned and pointed one of the handguns at an officer.
The 29-year-old officer, a three-year veteran of the police force, opened fire. No officers were injured. The suspect, meanwhile, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and is expected to survive, as of Tuesday night.
