Valley dance studio helps couples improve their marriage

MESA, Ariz. (FOX 10) - A local dance studio is holding classes to help couples improve their marriage.

Dancing is so much more than moving to the beat.

"They learn that they have to communicate, they have to be positive," said Mona Brandt, dance teacher.

Dance teacher Mona Brandt, says for couples taking lessons at Kaleidoscope Dance Studio in Mesa, it's about romance.

It seems at Kaleidoscope a growing number of long-married couples are taking dance lessons together because they've discovered, or rediscovered, that dance is actually very healthy and helpful at improving their marriage.

"We teach all the ballroom dances, we have the waltz, foxtrot, tango, rumba, salsa, and a night club two-step," said Brandt.

No matter the style or tempo, when they're cheek to cheek, hand in hand, dancing is romancing.

Brandt also says dance can have tremendous health benefits.
