Temperatures are slightly warmer than normal across Arizona, and the skies will remain mostly sunny. FOX 10's Erica Horvatin has the latest on what to expect for the upcoming week.
PHOENIX - Expect a quiet start to the work week. Temperatures are slowly climbing with a sunny and dry forecast.
Monday:
Monday was a beautiful, warm day across Arizona. Temperatures were slightly warmer than normal for most cities and towns.
Skies will stay clear through the night, and temperatures will fall into the mid-low 60s in the Valley. The high country will drop back into the 30s and 40s.
Tuesday:
Tuesday will be another quiet and warm day. Temperatures will climb another degree or two across Arizona, making for the warmest day of the week.
The Valley will reach the low 90s during the afternoon, and skies will be mostly sunny.
Phoenix will see isolated shower chances Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. Forecast highs will climb through the low 90s Tuesday and Wednesday. Behind the storm system, the forecast high falls back into the middle 80s.
Later This Week:
Conditions start to shift Tuesday into Wednesday as an area of low pressure slowly starts to swirl up and over California from the Southwest. This storm system will drag some modest moisture into Arizona, as well as gusty winds.
Showers and thunderstorms will be possible in northern and eastern AZ on Wednesday, but most rain will be light. The winds will be breezy across the Valley, Wednesday afternoon, with gusts up to around 20 mph. Winds will increase more notably over higher elevations.
By Thursday, the low pressure center will lift over us to the north. Winds will die down and conditions will slowly dry out from south to north – with lingering rain potential over far northern Arizona into the late day.
Far northern AZ could also see light showers on Thursday. The Valley will miss out on the rain, aside from some sprinkles.
Temperatures will remain in the mid 80s right through next weekend.
