Things are going to heat up this weekend!
PHOENIX - Temperatures heated up on Thursday, with the return of near-normal temperatures.
Tonight:
Luckily with extremely dry air over the state, overnight lows will drop into the low 80s, bringing much-needed relief from the heat.
Friday And The Weekend:
On Friday, temperatures will climb another degree or so, making it to 107 degrees in Phoenix. Temperatures will be staying hot through the weekend, warming a few more degrees through Sunday and Monday.
Skies are looking mostly sunny through Sunday across Arizona. Even the high country will see sunny and dry conditions. Fire danger will be elevated across the state, due to the extremely dry air in place.
Next Week:
Monsoon rain will return to Arizona next Monday through the end of the week. Most rain chances will be in the high terrain, but we could potentially see some rain in the Valley mid-late next week.

Preventing heat exhaustion/heat stroke
The Arizona Department of Health Services stated the following precautions can be taken to prevent heat exhaustion or heat stroke:
- Stay in air-conditioned buildings
- Find a cooling center/hydration station
- Limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day (mid-day)
- Check on at-risk friends, family, and neighbors at least twice a day
- Drink water before, during, and after working or exercising outside
- Check the UV Index
- Check the heat risk map
