Evening weather forecast - 8/1/25

Possible record-breaking temperatures are on the way.

Extreme heat begins in the Valley with dangerously hot temperatures for the weekend.

Extreme heat watches and warnings are in place across southern Arizona and lower elevations of the Grand Canyon through the weekend for temperatures over 110 degrees.

What's ahead:

Overnight lows will be near 90s for some areas. Showers in eastern Arizona will continue with a drier weekend ahead for much of the state.

Extreme heat will continue next week as temperatures will be over 110 degrees each day. Record-breaking and above-average temperatures will be possible next week with readings as high as 116 on Wednesday and 117 on Thursday.

The extreme heat warning will last through Saturday in Maricopa and Pinal counties, through Sunday for southern Arizona, and through next Tuesday for the Grand Canyon (below 4,000 feet).

These dangerously hot temperatures will put the Valley in a major heat risk for the first week of August.

We will continue to be dry and hot with the chance of showers for eastern Arizona next week. Make sure to stay hydrated, drink plenty of water and stay inside with AC if possible during this extreme heat wave.
