Crews pull man out after being trapped in trench in northwest Harris County

Emergency crews pulled a man out hours later after being trapped in a trench in northwest Harris County.

According to the Spring Fire Department, the man was trapped inside of a trench near Champions Forest Drive and Gleannloch Forest Drive.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says the man was working in the trench when the dirt around him collapsed.

We are told the man was trapped 12-15 feet below ground with dirt up to his waist.

The Spring Fire Department Technical Rescue Team, the Klein Fire Department, the Cy-Creek Fire Department and the Precinct 4 Constables Office are all assisting in the rescue.

LifeFlight is on the scene ready to transport the man as soon as he's lifted out of the trench.

People are asked to avoid the area.
