Dash Crofts, Seals & Crofts singer known for 'Summer Breeze,' dies at 87

Darrell "Dash" Crofts, singer and one half of the Seals & Crofts band, has died.

He was 87 years old.

Louie Shelton, the band’s producer, shared a tribute post on Facebook, saying: 

"Sad to hear our dear brother and partner in music has passed away today. Sending love and prayers to all his family and many fans. R.I.P. my brother.....Dash Crofts."

He died on Wednesday in Austin, Texas.

The backstory:

Seals & Crofts is best known for its 70s hits including "Summer Breeze," "Diamond Girl" and "Unborn Child." 

"Unborn Child" actually stirred controversy due to its anti-abortion stance. The song had come out following the landmark Supreme Court ruling in Roe v. Wade, according to a USA Today report.
