Country music legend Dolly Parton is speaking out amid her health struggles and remarks made by her sisters, Freida and Stella.

Dolly posted a video of her on social media with the caption "I ain’t dead yet!"

What they're saying:

In the video, Dolly is sitting in a studio, doing a commercial shoot for the Grand Ole Opry.

She announced today's date and said she knows people are concerned over her health and wanted to put "everyone's minds at ease."

Dolly stated that she was "okay," and that after her husband passed away, she didn't take care of herself and said it was "nothing major" but she canceled events to be closer to home in Vanderbilt and receive treatment.

She assured fans that she was not dying, but continued to ask for prayers.

"I'm not ready to die yet. I don't think God is through with me," she added.

Dolly Parton's sisters speak out

What they're saying:

On Tuesday, Freida Parton posted a second statement regarding Dolly's health.

"I want to clear something up. I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly," she posted on Facebook. "She’s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference."

Stella Parton also posted remarks on social media after Freida made hers.

"To those with genuine concern for my big sister Dolly’s well being, she posted a video last week to share with her fans that she has had kidney stones and is getting treatment," Stella wrote. "My sister Freida is always concerned when one of her siblings isn’t feeling well so she ask for prayers on Dolly’s behalf. It’s my job as a sister to both of them to love and respect their privacy as I expect them to do for me."

"To those of you who make it your job to attack me for not being your personal information center, you need to go check their pages!" she added. "Most fans are genuinely concerned but some of you are way out of line with disregard for my feelings concerning their wellbeing. My big sister will share with her fans when she so chooses in the meantime don’t come at me with questions or insults."

Dolly Parton postpones Las Vegas residency

The backstory:

Last month, Dolly postponed her Las Vegas residency, citing "health challenges."

At the time, she did not provide specific details, previously writing, "As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!"

Freida first made remarks over Dolly's health earlier on Tuesday.

"Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly," Freida posted on Facebook Tuesday. "Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me. She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!"

Dolly previously added that she is postponing the shows because she is "not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you."

She was scheduled to perform six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for "Dolly: Live in Las Vegas" between Dec. 4 and Dec. 13, overlapping with the National Finals Rodeo. Her dates have been moved to next year — Sept. 2026.

A quick look at the incredible life of Dolly Parton.

Tickets are valid for the new dates and refunds will be available, her statement adds.

"Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet," she said. "But I believe he is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you."

Dig deeper:

Last month, Dolly was unable to attend the announcement of a new ride at her Tennessee theme park Dollywood due to health issues. "I had a kidney stone that was causing me a lot of problems, turned out it’d given me an infection, and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better,’" Parton said in a video announcement at the time.

"So, he suggested I not go to Dollywood today, but I’m there with you in spirit. I was looking so forward to it."

And in March of this year, Parton’s devoted husband of nearly 60 years who avoided the spotlight and inspired her timeless hit "Jolene," Carl Dean, died. He was 82.

What's next:

Parton performs on occasion but hasn’t toured since her "Pure & Simple Tour" ended in 2016. But she’s remained as busy as ever: On. Nov. 11, she will release a new book, "Star of the Show: My Life on Stage." And a new stage musical inspired by her life story is set to land on Broadway in 2026.
