Lionel Richie hospitalized following St. Louis performance: Report

Lionel Richie is currently hospitalized in the intensive care unit after performing in St. Louis, Missouri, over the weekend, according to an exclusive TMZ report.

What we know:

Richie had reportedly checked himself into a local hospital out of an abundance of caution on Saturday. 

He is being looked at for possible dehydration, sources told TMZ.

Richie is expected to be discharged as soon as Tuesday. 

What we don't know:

His current condition is unknown as of this report.

Richie was performing at The Muny in Forest Park over the weekend before he was hospitalized. 

Witnesses reportedly told TMZ that Richie appeared to be having a hard time toward the end of the show. 

He even had his team bring out a chair for him so he could perform his final song, "All Night Long."

The backstory:

During his opening show of his summer 2026 tour back in June, Richie suffered a medical issue and was forced to end his show early.

He then had to postpone two more tour dates before he returned to the stage later that same month. 

What they're saying:

"Under advisement by doctors to rest and return to full health, Lionel Richie has postponed his next two shows," Richie wrote in an Instagram post. "Lionel is heartbroken to postpone these two shows and cannot wait to be back performing for his fans."
