Man shot, killed during home invasion in north Phoenix

PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Police say a suspect has been arrested after a man was shot and killed during a home invasion in north Phoenix last week.

According to Sgt. Tommy Thompson with Phoenix police, 50-year-old Travis Dunham was shot when the suspects broke into his home near North Valley Parkway and Casino Avenue.

Dunham was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

There were other adults inside the home during the shooting but none were injured.

Police say Matthew Zawacky was trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border but was arrested.

He faces several charges, including first-degree murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.
