The backstory:
We first reported on the case on March 31. Investigators say the incident happened at a home near 83rd Avenue and Jomax Road. The victims, identified as 63-year-old Fraser Turk and 56-year-old Tina Turk, were found dead inside.
Dig deeper:
In a statement, police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Jonathan Turk.
According to court documents, Turk called Peoria Police at around 6:29 p.m. to report that he killed his parents inside their home.
"He said he murdered his parents with a hammer and a knife because he got mad at them for putting him on medication," read a portion of the court documents.

Turk, per investigators, later told 911 he would be "stepping outside with a water bottle in his hand and would wait for officers."
Court documents state the weapons allegedly used in the murders were found in a trashcan. As for Turk, investigators said he refused to make any statements during an interview.
Investigators also said that "multiple mental health petitions" were completed by the two victims on Turk.
"We have concerns about his mental health and mental stability at this time," a state attorney said during Turk's court appearance. "He has multiple prior mental health petitions, including three in 2026."

The murder case came as a shock to some who live in the area.
