PHOENIX (AP) -- A man wanted on an arrest warrant was taken into custody after climbing onto the roof of a Phoenix motel and throwing debris at police officers.
Phoenix police say 32-year-old Phillip Satterfield was arrested about 7 a.m. Tuesday after officers gave him food, water and milk.
Officers were at the Motel 6 near Interstate 17 and Northern Avenue, looking for suspects in a 4 a.m. shoplifting incident at the Walgreens store.
Police located the suspect vehicle at the motel and when they contacted the occupants of a room, Satterfield reportedly climbed onto the roof.
Satterfield told police he was on probation and didn't want to return to prison.
He also told officers he was homeless and hadn't eaten in several days.
Police say Satterfield surrendered after he was fed.
