Police: Son arrested in connection to father's homicide

A man has been arrested in connection to the death of his father in February.

Scottsdale police arrested 24-year-old Wynton Elrod over the weekend while responding to reports of a suspicious person. Elrod had been missing since his father's body was discovered on February 28.

Elrod's brother returned home after being out of the state for over a week and discovered that Wynton was in his house. According to police, Wynton lied to his brother about his father's whereabouts and left the scene in his father's 2015 orange Fiat 500.

Craig Elrod's body was discovered in a bathroom inside the home after Wynton left the scene. There were obvious signs of trauma on the body and it is being investigated as a homicide.

The Fiat 500 has an Arizona license plate BMN2693 and is still missing.
