G7 Summit in France

Dig deeper:

The meeting among world leaders will take place in Évian-les-Bains, in southeastern France, according to a White House press email.

The summit will go from June 15-17.

What will be discussed?

Big picture view:

There is no doubt the Iran war will be one of the main topics of discussion, but Trump is also hoping to talk about many other subjects, including fighting drug smuggling and illegal immigration and promoting reducing regulatory barriers for trade and increasing energy production.

This will be the first face-to-face meeting between Trump and other world leaders since the war in Iran began.

Trump’s relationship with many of the G7 members has become strained amid the ongoing war, with the president loudly voicing his frustrations on social media, particularly with France and the United Kingdom.
