Wounded Warrior flies on paramotor for a ride of a lifetime

MARICOPA, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- A wounded warrior and Air Force veteran got the ride of his life in Maricopa on Wednesday.

Veteran and EOD Specialist Matthew Slaydon lost his eyesight and his arm after a roadside bomb went off in Iraq, but that isn't stopping him from living his life to the fullest. He got to ride a paramotor, which is like a parachute, but with a motor. It looked quite scary to ride, but Slaydon, who calls himself an adrenaline junkie, is not one to shy away from a joyride.

Thanks to Slaydon's friend, Chad Cooper, as well as the owner of Airparamo, Slaydon is riding his first paramotor.

Slaydon, who now works as a motivational speaker to give hope to others like him, says he'll be back on the paramotor soon. He encourages everyone to live out their dreams and passion, no matter what.
