Capitol Police: Man sent obscene pictures to state senate staff

RICHMOND, Va. (AP/FOX 10) - Virginia Capitol Police say they are searching for a man who sent photographs of male genitalia to several state Senate staffers.

Police said Tuesday they'd obtained warrants charging Erik A. Johansson with sending obscene material. Police say they are searching for the 50-year-old man, whose last known address was in Tucson, Arizona.

Police say Johansson sent multiple emails containing pictures of genitalia to Senate staffers in December. Police did not say why Johansson allegedly sent the pictures.

"We have literally thousands of state employees working in and around Capitol Square daily and doing so in a professional manner and they deserve to know they can carry out their duties without being subjected to this kind of criminal conduct," said Col. Anthony S. Pike, chief of the Capitol Police. "It's intimidating, it is unwarranted and it will not be tolerated."

If you have any information regarding Johansson's whereabouts, call the Capitol Police Communications Center at (804) 786-2120.
