PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix Fire crews say a toddler is in critical condition after he wound up in a canal near 43rd Avenue and Osborn on Sunday morning.
Phoenix Police say the boy somehow got out through a gate connected to a home near 43rd Avenue and Crittenden, just north of Osborn Road. A spokesperson for Phoenix Fire says the 18-month-old boy was pulled out of the water and immediately given CPR.
The toddler was pulled from the water near 43rd Avenue and Crittenden before 10:30 a.m., on Sunday.
The child was in critical condition, according to Phoenix Fire crews that rushed him to a nearby trauma center. Phoenix Police say the boy still has a pulse.
Phoenix Police say this appears to be an accident.
