Family asking for help in finding the person responsible for gunning down man in his own apartment

New details are emerging on a Valley man who was gunned down inside his own apartment.

The victim was doing a Facebook Live video when he was shot and killed. The Facebook video in question has been viewed thousands of times on social media. FOX 10 has opted to not show the video, out of respect for the victim's family.

Now, the victim's family is asking for help in finding the man's killer.

"It was always something positive on the videos," said Nina Russell, the sister of the victim, identified as Disean Russell.

Surrounded by family, Russell remembered her younger brother, who was killed earlier in the week on Indian School Road, near I-17.

"Somebody was like, 'you can hear the gunshots in the video', so then I went back and I watched the video, and my heart just dropped," said Russell.

Disean's family remembers the victim, a father to two sons, as a loving and positive person.

"This week has been stressful, it's been traumatic," said Russell. "It's like a nightmare that you're just not gonna wake up from."

Police have put out a description of the suspect and a vehicle. The suspect is described as a black man, around 5'9", and the car was described as a new sedan, with tinted windows.

Disean's family says they just hope someone who was there comes forward with information

"He's my mom only son that she birthed, we deserve to know what happened, or why it happened, who felt that they needed to take him from us," said russell.

All the Russell family left with now are some happy memories.

"Seeing all the people say all the things they were saying, how positive he was, how everyone was going to miss him, how much he helped them through this, that makes me feel good, knowing that my brother is leaving an impact," said Russell.

The family will be holding a fundraising car wash this weekend, on the corner of 2nd Street and Broadway, to try and help pay for funeral arrangements.
