PHOENIX (KSAZ) -- Officials with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday afternoon that a 62-year-old who was arrested for alleged sexual abuse and child molestation used to work for the agency.
In a statement, officials said Kirk Meisner retired in 2001, and last worked as a Deputy Sheriff for MCSO. The Waddell man was arrested by MCSO's Fugitive Apprehension Tactical Enforcement (FATE) team on Wednesday, following a year-long investigation involving SVU detectives from MCSO, along with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.
The investigation began, after deputies responded to a 911 called on July 9, 2017 who alleged that Meisner had inappropriately touched two minor female victims on multiple occasions, most recently on June on 2017. Later on, both of the alleged victims disclosed, during an interview, that they were touched inappropriately by the suspect multiple times. The parents later told detectives that they had confronted Meisner themselves, who made incriminating statements pertaining to the alleged crimes.
Meisner, according to MCSO officials, had a Grand Jury Arrest Warrant issued against him on four counts of sexual abuse, a count of attempted child molestation, and a count of child molestation. Meisner has since been booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail. Authorities say there is no known additional victims at this time.
