Musicians, Celebrity Theatre set to be honored at Thursday's Hall of Fame event
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - So many famous musicians and entertainers have connections to the Grand Canyon State.
Steven Spielberg, Stevie Nicks, David Spade, and Linda Ronstadt are just a few of the many, and they are all in the Arizona Entertainment and Music Hall of Fame.
This week, the 2017 class of inductees will be honored, in a Thursday night event at the iconic Celebrity Theatre, which will also be honored in its own right.
Some of the biggest acts in music have graced the stage at Celebrity Theatre, including David Bowie, Van Halen, Def Leppard, and Etta James, to name just a few. With its round, rotating stage, which is small enough to feel everyone has front row seating, it is fitting, to some, that Celebrity Theater is included.
Concert promoter Danny Zelisko, who is also an Arizona Entertainment and Music Hall of Fame member, is excited about 2017'a inductees, which includes the Gin Blossoms. The band, which started small in Tempe, has become a staple of the 90s. Besides the Gin Blossoms, members of the Meat Puppets, a band late Nirvana member Kurt Cobain once called his favorite band, are getting back together for a special performance Thursday night.
All the inductees will perform at the ceremony Thursday, and tickets are available for as long as $10. They can be purchased at the door at the Celebrity Theatre. or online.
FOX 10 Phoenix news anchors John Hook and Kari Lake are the MCs for Thursday night's event.
