GLENDALE, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- There is lots of stuff going on around town this weekend, but there is one sweet festival you might want to check out.
This weekend, Murphy's Park in historic Downtown Glendale will be transformed into a chocolate affaire.
"You can definitely imagine there is chocolate. Lots of chocolate," said Kim Larson with the City of Glendale. "We will have just under 40 different chocolate tiers that come from here in Arizona and from across the country."
Even full-service food vendors participating in the festival will have chocolate items on their menus. Cerreta's Candy Company has been hosting the sweet event for over 20 years, and now, candy maker Tony Cerreta and his team are preparing for another successful year.
"All of our caramel, brittles, toffees go through our kitchen, and they get cooked in copper kettles, rolling them in chopped pecans," said Cerreta.
Along with dipped apples, there will be tons of, as you can imagine, chocolate of different shapes and sizes.
The candy factory will also offer tours throughout the weekend, to show where the chocolate magic happens every day.
"You can really come in and see the inside of a chocolate factory," said Cerreta. "Throughout the building, there will be around 15,000 pounds of chocolate presented that you will see, whether it's in action, moving, we'll have different depositors on chocolate flowing, to 10-pound bars."
It's simply a chocolate wonderland.
