PEORIA - The Arizona Department of Transportation has shut down eastbound traffic on Grand Avenue at 75th Avenue after a pedestrian was struck by a car early Saturday morning.
The man was hit by a car shortly before 5am in the area of 75th Avenue and Grand.
Peoria Fire crews transported one person to the hospital. The victim is reportedly in critical condition at the hospital. It's not clear if the man stepped in front of the car deliberately or not.
The driver reportedly was heading to work when the accident happened. Peoria Police say the driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement. Police have shut down the area while they investigate what led up to the crash.
Grand Avenue was reopened at about 8;30am on Saturday.
