Phoenix Police: Suspects rob Safeway store, assault employee
Phoenix Police are looking for two suspects that robbed a Safeway store, and assaulted an employee.
On Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at about 6:40 p.m., a male and female entered the Safeway located at 7th Avenue and Osborn Road.
They went around the store and grabbed items off the shelves, and attempted to conceal them. While trying to leave without paying for the items, an employee stopped them at the exit.
The video shows a struggle between the employee and the male suspect, who then pulls out a box cutter knife and cuts the store employee.
Both of the suspects fled, but no vehicle was seen.
The first suspect is described as a Hispanic or Native American male, about 30 years old, at 5 feet 10 inches, and weighing about 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black baseball cap, gray T-shirt, gray basketball shorts and black tennis shoes.
The second suspect is described as a white female, about 30 years old, at 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds and having blond hair. She was wearing a green headband with her hair in a ponytail, turquoise tank top, black tights, and gray tennis shoes.
