MESA, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A suspect has been hospitalized following an overnight officer-involved shooting in Mesa.
Mesa police tell Fox 10 that officers responded to a domestic violence call involving a couple at a home near Ellsworth and Brown Roads just after midnight.
After arriving at the scene, officers were met by a man who was armed with a knife.
The suspect refused to drop the knife and was initially shot by a bean-bag shotgun.
When the suspect continued to move towards officers, he was shot by two police officers.
The suspect was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
Ellsworth is restricted as police continue their investigation.
