Teen accused of shooting, killing his father in Phoenix
An 18-year-old is behind bars, accused of fatally shooting his father, 48-year-old Victor Morales Lubvio, and wounding a female family member. The double shooting happened on Tuesday, June 24, near 7th Street and Dobbins Road.
PHOENIX - An 18-year-old is accused of shooting and killing his father during a family party in south Phoenix.
What we know:
The shooting happened just before 2:30 a.m. on June 24 near 7th Street and Dobbins Road.
According to Phoenix Police, a person pulled out a gun during an altercation, and shots were fired.
Victor Morales Lubvio, 48, was taken to a hospital in critical condition where he later died.
A woman who was shot is expected to survive.
Victor Morales-Jimenez
Police say the suspect left the gun at the home before fleeing the scene. He later turned himself in and was identified as 18-year-old Victor Morales-Jimenez, Lubvio's son.
Morales-Jimenez was booked into jail and is being held on a $1 million bond.
What we don't know:
The woman's name was not released, but authorities identified her as Morales-Jimenez's mother.
The motive for the shooting is unknown.

On July 22, the Maricopa County Attorney's Office announced Morales-Jimenez had been indicted in connection with the shooting.
Morales-Jimenez is accused of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and misconduct involving weapons.
His trial is scheduled for November of this year.
