MESA (KSAZ) - Mesa Police say a suspect was injured after getting thrown from a stolen vehicle during a chase on Saturday night.
Officers say the incident happened at about 1:15 a.m., on Saturday morning. The suspect stole a vehicle, reportedly from the area of Main Street and Mesa Drive. Mesa officers finally caught up with the suspect after the vehicle crashed on the US 60 at Goldfield Road.
The suspect was reportedly thrown from the vehicle in the crash. Fire crews took the suspect to a nearby hospital. The freeway was shut down for several hours while police investigated. The road was opened back up just before 6 a.m.
The suspect will likely face charges once released from the hospital.
