AHWATUKEE - A woman crossing the street in the middle of the block was hit and killed by a driver in Ahwatukee on Saturday night.
Phoenix Police say the deadly crash happened at 9:45pm on Saturday. They say a Mazda Miata was heading south on 48th Street from Ray Road in Ahwatukee when the car collided with a woman who was crossing the street in the middle of the block.
The driver remained on scene and showed no signs of impairment. The woman who was hit was rushed to the hospital where she later died.
Police have not yet released the name of the victim who was killed.
