Hearings to look into why people miss jury duty

Have you skipped out on jury duty? You may need to be ready to provide a good reason why. The Maricopa County Superior Court system is holding a series of "order to show cause" hearings on Oct. 20. The goal of the hearings is to learn why people are ignoring their summons. About 20 people are being asked to explain why they did not report for jury duty, and if they skip out again, they can be fined up to $500 and still be required to complete their civic duty.
