2 men in custody following attempted robbery, shooting at Surprise home

Police are investigating a shooting in a Surprise neighborhood after they say three suspects broke into a home ane exchanged gunfire with a man during an attempted armed robbery on Wednesday night.

According to the Surprise Police Department, the suspects broke into the home near Bell and Reems Roads with the intention of robbing a victim of money and drugs that they believed were inside.

Police say during the attempted armed robbery, both the suspects and victim exchanged gunfire. The victim and one suspect were shot. The victim's injuries are considered non-life threatening.

Surprise police say the injured suspect was taken to a hospital by 24-year-old James Davis V and 21-year-old Alex Carter. Police responded to the hospital and learned that the three suspects were involved in the robbery and shooting.

Davis and Carter were taken into custody by police and the third suspect remains hospitalized.
