2 shot in 7-Eleven parking lot, suspect on the loose

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Police are investigating a shooting that happened Wednesday night at a 7-Eleven convenience store parking lot near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road.

Officials say someone in a white truck parked in the lot, then for some reason the person in the truck pulled a gun and fired shots towards two people who were simply sitting at a bus stop nearby. Then the suspect left the scene.

Both people at the bus stop were hit by bullets and rushed to an area hospital and are expected to survive.

Police say the suspect was driving a white pickup truck.

"No motive is apparent and the victims were less than forthcoming with more detailed information," stated Sgt. Vince Lewis of the Phoenix Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing.
