2nd arrest made in Feb. 27 fatal shooting of Phoenix pastor

PHOENIX (AP) - A second arrest has been made in the February fatal shooting of a Phoenix pastor who ministered to ex-convicts and the homeless.

Phoenix police say 30-year-old Jaime Norberto Sapien was arrested Monday on suspicion of murder, burglary, armed robbery, aggravated assault and theft.

A Police Department spokesman, Sgt. Jonathan Howard, said he did not know whether Sapien has a lawyer who could address the allegations.

Another man was arrested in the case March 26, and police said at the time they were looking for a second suspect in the Feb. 27 death of 53-year-old John "Jack" Moriarty.

Moriarty was a pastor at the Redeemed Outreach Center.

According to police, two men entered Moriarty's home and fled with stolen property after he was shot.
