Authorities: Fort Mohave man arrested in death of infant boy

KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - Mohave County Sheriff's officials say a Fort Mohave man is in custody in connection with the death of a baby.

They say 20-year-old Tyler James Kirkpatrick was arrested Wednesday after an investigation led by Mohave County Attorney's Office that started in October.

Investigators were called about a possible child-abuse situation in October after Kade Kryska was admitted to a Fort Mohave hospital for head trauma.

Authorities say the 15-month-old boy had been in Kirkpatrick's care the whole day.

Kirkpatrick was arrested at his residence, which he shares with the child's mother.

He was booked into the Mohave County jail on suspicion of child abuse and first- and second-degree murder by domestic violence.

It was unclear Wednesday afternoon if Kirkpatrick has a lawyer yet.
