BBQ fundraiser raises $270k for fallen officer's family

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Nearly $300,000 was raised during a BBQ fundraiser for the family of fallen Phoenix Police Officer David Glasser.

The BBQ raised $270,000 for the Glasser family. Officer Glasser was killed in the line of duty last week.

The BBQ took place at the PLEA office at 11th Avenue and Adams and it went on until 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

Thousands stopped by and showed their support for the Glasser family. PLEA served hot dogs, hamburgers, soda, water, and chips. All proceeds went to Glasser's widow and two young children.

Officer Glasser's funeral is scheduled for Thursday.
