Desert Club prepares for this year's Christmas Idea House

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KSAZ) - It's September but members of the Desert Club are already thinking about Christmas. It's the most wonderful time of the year for the non-profit because they hold their biggest events, but they are still in need of help for this year's Christmas Idea House.

It takes a lot of planning and supplies for the Desert Club to create a Christmas you won't soon forget.

"We come in as an organization of roughly 40 women who have been working all through the year to create one of a kind items that are either handcrafted or embellished or something to that degree," said one Desert Club member.

Every year the women transform a home into a winter wonderland. This year's Christmas Idea House will be the 61st, but the club is still looking for a host.

"It's just a matter of having a home that will showcase the items and give us an opportunity to give back to the community."

The club holds three catered events all while raising money to go towards scholarships for local students.

This is the latest in the season they have not yet had a home to decorate.
